Asankrangwa Adwenepapa Co-operative Farmers & Marketing Society Ltd is a Cooperative Society registered under the Cooperative Laws of the Republic of Ghana with bye-laws and permitted to undertake its cooperative business and operate its office in a healthy, safely environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner, including Production of staple foods and cash crops such as Fish, Cocoa, Rice, Palm Oil and Livestock. As a Collective bottom-up owned and run business The Cooperative Society also Provides Input, Marketing and other Value chain services and supportive activities for members to undertake their farming. The unique combination of small and medium to large farmers enable the society to achieve internal out-grower-like mutual benefits among themselves so there is mentoring and coverage of the weak by the strong.

In order to improve Aquaculture Practices, cooperative governance and Cooperative business practices through continuing cooperative education and training, Investment Mobilisation and better Management of the Cooperative   Adwenepapa uses expertise from Start-Up SME Centres (SSC) and Institute of Certified Management Consultants (ICMC) Ghana/Business Development Service Providers Association of Ghana: www.Startupsmecentres.org www.startupsmecentres.com , with whom it has an arrangement.

Adwenepapa is Primary Cooperative Society of smallholder farmers, small and micro-entrepreneurs, workers, artisans interested and involved with needs, issues and interests of farmers and rural populations such as financial, Fisheries-Aquaculture, Cocoa, Housing, health, education, clean power-energy, Forest, Landscapes, Sustainability, Climate Impacts and Natural resources, social entrepreneurial, social economy and Green Economy. It started as Asankrangwa Adwenepapa Cooperative Farmers and Marketing Society Ltd , but because of multipurpose interest and involvement of farmers and rural people, it was expanded to accommodate multiple purpose membership, since the needs and interest of farmers and rural populations are integrated and comprehensive. It is upheld by the recognition that humans live in an ecosystem, which all together needs to be catered for as we pursue our individual and collective needs and interests in a sustainable manner for the entire universe.

‘ADWENPAPA’ (Good Mind) is what farmers, rural people, Ghanaians and Africans need to develop themselves, communities and Nations. It is the kind of ‘good mind’ that is embodied by cooperative ideals and values of fellow feeling, mutual concern, collective-help, joint ownership and sharing, which if absent leads to greed, selfishness, and exploitation, which are thought to be reasons why people are poor even in the midst of plenty. Combined and collective resources, forces, energies and ownership is the surest way to individual and communal wealth, development and progress in a sustainable manner, which is possible and powered by ‘good mind’ towards mutual and reciprocal assistance. Any negative thoughts, perspectives and evil manoeuvring which do not promote the common good are eschewed by the Society. Personal Self-interest therefore is possible and enhanced by achieving the collective interest of members and common good of humans living in bio diverse ecosystem, which all together needs to be catered for as we pursue our individual and collective needs and interests in a sustainable manner for the good of the entire universe.
